Roadmap¶
Version 1.0 (October 2026)¶
22 chapters, 22 MicroSims, a 368-concept learning graph, a glossary, an FAQ, three appendices, a teacher guide, a club kit, an oral history project and printable PDFs.
Version 1.1 (planned)¶
- Real voices. Pronunciation recordings by real speakers (SASA members and families, with permission) for the key words in each chapter. Version 1.0 uses written respellings only, on purpose: we would rather have no audio than robot audio that gets a word wrong.
- First stories in the Story Archive, shared with consent through the Oral History Project.
- Expert review of at least one chapter in each part by a teacher or scholar of South Asia, credited on the Accuracy page.
- Pilot results from SASA meetings, using the pre/post quiz kit, posted on the Impact page.
Later¶
- Translations of the chapter summaries into Bangla, Hindi, Nepali, Sinhala, Tamil and Urdu, done by volunteer speakers.
- More MicroSims, such as a raga explorer and a monsoon-and-crops model.
- A teacher's question bank aligned to Minnesota's ethnic studies standards.
